Resources

  • The Watchlist: CentreFrame has launched The Watchlist, an initiative to find the best emerging talent nationwide, nominated by their institution.

The Watchlist is a year-round recognition programme with two programmes annually, celebrating exceptional emerging talent in UK short filmmaking. Unlike traditional industry lists curated from a single network or city, The Watchlist partners with institutions across the entire UK - from universities to community cinemas, drama schools to rental houses - to discover talent from every corner of the country.”

  • BFI Film Academy: Getting your Films into Festivals: This useful BFI Film Academy session is now available to watch on YouTube.

This BFI Film Academy session is designed for emerging filmmakers aged 16-25 who want to navigate the film festival circuit with confidence. Watch to discover how to find out about smaller film festivals, how to choose the right festivals for your work, craft a compelling submission, and maximise your chances of selection. If you've just finished your first short film, or you're more experienced and looking to take your festival strategy to the next level, this session will have something for you.”

  • Meta and TikTok let harmful content rise after evidence outrage drove engagement, say whistleblowers: Interesting and disturbing insight from BBC News after investigating the handling of reports of harmful content by social media giants.
